1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. We also use other similar technologies — local storage, session storage, and short-lived in-memory tokens — and we treat them under the same rules as cookies. We refer to them all as "cookies" in this policy.
2. Categories we use
| Category | Purpose | Examples | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Authentication, session integrity, security tokens (CSRF), basic functionality | Auth session, CSRF token, recently-viewed list | Not subject to consent (ePrivacy "strictly necessary" exception) |
| Functional | Remember your preferences (theme, language, sidebar collapsed state) | Theme preference, language, layout state | Consent — preselected because they only store your own choices |
| Analytics | Understand which features are used and where users get stuck, in aggregate | Plausible analytics tool | Consent |
| Marketing | None at this time. We do not use ad-tracking or remarketing cookies. | — | — |
3. Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by services we embed inside the FoyerFlow application — typically error monitoring (e.g. Sentry) and customer support. These third parties act as our processors and only process data on our instructions. The list of third parties and the role they play is in Subprocessors.
4. Your consent and how to control it
We ask for consent before setting any cookie that is not strictly necessary, with a cookie banner on first visit. You can change your preferences at any time by clicking "Cookie preferences" in the website footer.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will break authentication and key features of the FoyerFlow application.
5. How long cookies last
Session cookies expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies last between a few days and one year, depending on the cookie. Specific lifetimes are listed in the cookie banner's "Manage preferences" view.
6. Updates
When we change which cookies we use, we update this policy and re-prompt for consent where required.
